Every year several area choirs join forces to celebrate the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with the goal of blurring the geographic, demographic, and economic lines separating urban and suburban Pittsburgh.
The MLK Festival Choir is comprised of singers from choirs throughout the Greater Pittsburgh region, including: Bethany Baptist Church, the Gospel Chorale of Pittsburgh, First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh, the Lemington Chorale, Renaissance City Choir, Rodman Street Baptist Church, and the Universalist Church of the South Hills.
The MLK Festival Band is comprised of Chuck Anderson (keyboard/Music Director), Glyn Loyd (bass), Keith Flowers (organ), Jamin Harris (drums), John Karl Council (drums), Thomas Harris (percussion), William Taylor (piano), Tylique Katzbek (guitar), and Uliana Kozhevnikova (piano).
